The third time is once again a charm as the latest generation running several of New York City's legendary real estate clans gather to discuss current real estate trends, and their challenges and opportunities in continuing the family legacy while making their own marks. As always, the event will include the opportunity to meet and greet the speakers, as well as fellow attendees.

 

SPEAKERS:


Archie Gottesman, Co-Owner, Chief Branding Officer, Edison Properties

Archie Gottesman is the Co-Owner and Chief Branding Officer of Edison Properties in Newark, NJ. She oversees Marketing, Advertising and Human Resources of the company’s multiple entities based in Newark, Baltimore and New York City. These include Manhattan Mini Storage, Edison ParkFast and other real estate interests.  By implementing her belief that in order to reach the public – no matter what product – an organization must be courageous, edgy and add a little humor into the mix, Manhattan Mini Storage has become loved for its witty and much beloved billboards and subway ads. Edison was co-founded by Ms. Gottesman’s father and uncle in 1956.  Her husband, Gary DeBode, is Edison’s CEO and her brother-in-law, Moshe Greenberg, is Edison’s President and Vice-Chair.

Outside the office, Ms. Gottesman has served as chair and vice chair of the New York’s Animal Haven Shelter since 2003. During her tenure as chair, Animal Haven experienced a 500% adoption rate increase. She also sits on the national board of the Foundation for Jewish Camp and is a board member for the Women’s Association of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. She is a past board member of Kent Place School in Summit, NJ and Camp JRF in South Sterling, PA.  Ms. Gottesman was selected as a Wexner Heritage recipient, ultimately completing the three-year program in Jewish leadership. She graduated from Northwestern University.  She and her husband, Gary DeBode, live in Summit, N.J. with their three daughters and three shelter dogs.

 


Shari Goodstein Rossi, Chairwoman/CFO, Eagle Air Inc; Partner, Goodstein Organization

Shari Goodstein Rossi is Chairwoman and CFO of Eagle Air, Inc. a full concierge charter company operating out of the New York City area.  She is a successful and prudent Financial Manager representing aviation and real estate organizations in analytical, management and sales roles.  In addition to her continued role in her family's Real Estate legacy spanning three generations, she is a profit-focused expert in cost reduction and budgeting for Eagle Air.  Previously Ms. Rossi focused her energy as a broker, manager and developer for Goodstein Equities and various family-related LLCs from 1995 through August, 2013.  She continues to add value as a partner offering her array of expertise to many continued endeavors in these entities.  Ms. Rossi holds a Chartered Market Technician designation from the Market Technician’s Association.  She holds a Master’s of Science, New York University and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Finance Degree, George Washington University.

 

Laurie Zucker, Vice Chair, Zucker Organization

Laurie Zucker joined The Zucker Organization in 1977 and, as Vice Chair, continues to play an active role in its growth. The Zucker Organization is comprised of Manhattan Skyline Management Corp., a full service management company, Manhattan Skyline Construction Corp., a general contracting firm and Donald Zucker Company, a full service mortgage concern.

A New York State licensed real estate broker since 1981, Ms. Zucker’s responsibilities encompass the overall management of Zucker-related properties, which now includes approximately 2,500 apartments in the New York City area. Her involvement begins in the development stage, whether renovation or new construction, with the selection and supervision of design and architectural services and contractors, and continues through marketing, leasing and subsequent ongoing management of the property.

Specifically, Ms. Zucker’s responsibilities include the supervision of: company expenditures for individual properties and business; pricing of commercial and residential properties; public relations for and marketing of rental, sales and commercial properties; selection of brokers, if outside services are required, for sales and rentals of commercial and residential properties; in-house and on-site leasing offices; design and architectural services for renovations and new construction projects; legal representation for all properties and businesses; computer and telecommunication systems for all properties and businesses. She is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, and Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York and is a member of the Boards of the Rent Stabilization Associates and Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations.

Ms. Zucker attended Ithaca College and New York University’s School of Continuing Education Real Estate Division.

As Chairman of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group, Ms. Consolo is responsible for the most successful commercial division of New York City’s largest residential real estate brokerage firm. As co-founder of the international luxury brokers network SBS, her affiliations are worldwide: Her expansive client base includes such top-tier fashion names as Buccellati, Cartier, Versace, Peter Millar, Paul Morelli, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Louboutin, Fogal, Ferragamo, Bond No. 9, Calypso, Fresh, Lockes, Wempe, and Wolford, and globally based mass merchandisers that include Sephora, H&M, Uniqlo and Zara, as well as an international coterie of private and public real estate investors.

 

A past president of AREW and current board member of NYCREW and national director of CREW, Ms. Consolo serves as the chapter’s director of communications, and on the communications committee of CREW nationally. In April 2012, she launched “Real Estate Has a Heart,” now known as the “Faith Hope Consolo Foundation,” to support the numerous causes she champions under one charitable umbrella.
